What to do with pharmacogenetic test results? In this article we discuss pharmacogenetic tests, with a focus on CYP450 enzymes. To illustrate the relevance of pharmacogenetics in clinical practice, we present two cases: firstly a 32-year-old patient with depression, who suffered from a broad range of side effects on different antidepressants; and secondly a 55-year-old patient with heart failure who presents his GP with a personal Pharmacogenetic Profile card.
