A 65-year-old woman with gonarthrosis of the left knee received a total knee arthroplasty. All safety procedures were followed, but nevertheless a right-side femoral component was cemented in the left knee, due to human error. As a preventive measure it was decided to only allow implants for the operative site in the operating room for extra safety.
